Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC) has released a recruitment notification to recruit Sub Inspector Civil Police, Armed Police posts recently. Minimum Physical Standard:
Height 5’3” (Minimum)
Chest 32”(Minimum)with minimum expansion of 02”
Weight 50Kgs. (Minimum)
Sub Inspector Selections divided in 3 steps.

• First Step: Preliminary Examination
• Second Step: Physical Endurance cum Physical Efficiency Test
• Third Step: Main Exam.

SPSC Sub Inspector Syllabus for preliminary examination  

Paper I – (300 marks/ 2 ½ hrs) 

The Preliminary Examination shall consist of one paper of 300 marks of 2 ½ hours duration. The question will be of multiple choice/objective type.

Main Topics in Preliminary Examination:
1. Current Events of State, National & International importance.
2. History of India and Indian National Movement.
3. Main features of Indian Constitution.
4. Panchayati Raj (local Self Government)
5. Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, demographics main
environmental, social, educational, health, rural & urban developmental programmes of
Central and State Government.
6. General aspect about law & order and international security.
7. General Science (class X level)
8. Mathematics (class X level)
9. English (class X level)
Second Step:

Physical Endurance cum Physical Efficiency Test 

100 Meter Race 14.5 to 16.0 seconds
1500 Meter Race 6.75 to 8.0 minutes
High Jump 1.15 to 1.30 meters
Long Jump 3.60 to 4.05 meters
Shot Put 5.30 to 6.20 meters
Third Step

Main Examination Syllabus

Compulsory Subject A combined paper in General Knowledge and English - 200 Marks.

English - 100 Marks. 1 hour duration

General knowledge - 100 Marks. 1 hour duration
Optional Subjects - 300 Marks 3 hours

4th Stage: Viva-Voce - 75 Marks.
